Candidates with a BCA/BSc Hons/BSc with Mathematics and Statistics subjects with 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for reserved category) are eligible to pursue this course. Candidates also have to submit the necessary documents to prove their eligibility at the time of admission and the application form filling.

Applicants with Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST) are eligible to take admission. Admission is based on the valid Rank/Scores obtained in the CAT exam along with other criteria. As proof of eligibility, aspirants must hold the relevant documents as well.

The eligibility criteria for MTech course at the NIT Surathkal is that candidate should have passed BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate from a recognised university. Aspirant should have the degree and mark sheets (original/copies) at the time of form filling and admission confirmation. These documents are required for verification purposes. Further, the selection process include GATE + CCMT Counselling.
