NIT Surathkal cutoff is based on JEE Main scores followed by the JoSAA Counselling and later by CSAB Counselling. NIT Surathkal JEE Main cutoff for admission to BTech courses has been released upto Round 8. Candidates seeking admission to NIT Surathkal must have a valid score in order to be eligible for the Counselling. It is also mandatory to register for JoSAA Counselling as well as CSAB Counselling. The eligibility criteria for MTech course at the NIT Surathkal is that candidate should have passed BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate from a recognised university. Aspirant should have the degree and mark sheets (original/copies) at the time of form filling and admission confirmation. These documents are required for verification purposes. Further, the selection process include GATE + CCMT Counselling.

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at NIT Surathkal has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 25078. In 2023, it decreased to 23632. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 34699 to 8409 for OBC, 76541 to 4193 for SC, 789 to 1001 for ST, 32563 to 3735 for EWS, and 460 to 634 for PWD.This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

NIT Surathkal will release 7-8 rounds of JEE Main cutoffs for admission to BTech. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:The JEE Main score of the candidateThe category of the candidateThe number of seats available in the courseCandidates must visit the official website of entrance exam to read clear instructions on how to proceed with the counselling process, once the round is released.
