Achieving only 79 percentile in the first session and 61 percentile in the second session of JEE Mains-2024 does not possess a ticket to NIT, under general counseling. Admission in NITs requires higher percentiles to get seats, usually more than 90 percentiles for reserved categories and generally more than 95+ purely for general categories depending on the branch and NIT.Options You May Explore:CSAB Special Round:Sometimes, lower ranked candidates may get seats in less preferred branches at newer NITs or in less competitive categories by the CSAB special round.State Quota:If the person belongs to a state with its own NIT, the home sta

With an EWS category rank of 81,000 in JEE Mains, admission to IITs is not possible since they require clearing JEE Advanced, which has much stricter cutoffs. However, there's still a chance to secure a seat in NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs, though it may be challenging for top branches or highly sought-after NITs.Here's what you can explore:Lower-tier NITs or GFTIs: You might get branches like civil, mechanical, or other core fields in newer NITs or GFTIs.State Quota: If you belong to the home state of an NIT, your chances improve due to the home state quota. It's always worth participating in the counseling process, as cutoffs can fluctuate.

The percentile you provided (95.39) can give an approximate All India Rank (AIR).So, your estimated AIR would be around 46,100. However, this is a rough estimate, as the actual rank can vary based on the number of candidates and the difficulty level of the exam. The exact AIR will be available when JEE Mains results are released. With an estimated AIR of around 46,000, here are the possible options you could consider:NITs: You may have a chance in NITs like NIT Srinagar, NIT Raipur, NIT Patna, and NIT Jamshedpur for branches like Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.IIITs: You may have a chance at lower-demand branches like IT,

With a 80 percentile in JEE Main, getting admission into an NIT (National Institute of Technology) can be quite challenging, as the cutoffs for NITs, especially for popular branches like Computer Science, Electronics, and Electrical Engineering, are generally much higher. However, there are still possibilities for securing admission in certain NITs, depending on factors such as:Category: Reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL) often have relaxed cutoffs.Home State Quota: You may have an advantage if you're applying under the home state quota, as cutoffs tend to be lower for candidates from the same state as the NIT.Branch Preferences: Le

A percentile of 68 in JEE Mains 2024 is really a bad chance for getting into any NIT or IIT because the cutoff ranks for the best colleges are always far lower than 68. Nevertheless, you will have a decent chance for getting admission to some of the lowest-ranked NITs or one of the new IITs, based on branch preference and competition. One would be advised to look for some other engineering college with less admission criteria or again appear for the JEE Mains in the next session in case of improved rank. Opening and closing ranks keep an eye in counseling.

Hi,  Deciding on a second partial drop is a personal choice and depends on your confidence in significantly improving your performance this time. Scoring 93% in your first drop year shows that you've worked hard, but NIT admissions depend heavily on your JEE Main score and rank.  If you believe you can enhance your preparation, identify weak areas, and improve your score, taking another attempt might be worth it. However, consider the additional pressure and time investment a second drop entails. It's also essential to have a clear strategy for preparation this time—whether it's refining your concepts, solving mock tests, o

Hi Hrujula, To increase your chances of getting into an NIT, follow these steps to prepare effectively:Prioritize Weak Areas: Identify subjects or topics where you're scoring lower in your mock tests and focus on improving them through practice.Time Management: Practice solving previous years' question papers within the time limit. This helps you manage time during the actual exam.Use Online Resources: Since your teacher wasn't effective, consider using online platforms or YouTube tutorials for better understanding. Platforms like Khan Academy  can be helpful.Take Full-Length Mock Tests: This will improve your speed and help you a

With a JEE Main rank of 2000, you have excellent chances of securing admission to the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch in several National Institutes of Technology (NITs). The specific NITs you can get depend on factors such as category (General, OBC, SC, ST, or EWS), home state quota, and the opening and closing ranks for CSE in each NIT.  For candidates in the General category, top NITs like Trichy, Surathkal, and Warangal may be slightly challenging, but mid-tier NITs like NIT Calicut, NIT Rourkela, or NIT Nagpur are achievable. For reserved category candidates, the chances of getting into top NITs improve significantl

Yes, NITs will accept your improved score only if you have only 73% in your 12th borad. You are adviced to appear for improvement exams only if you are from general category as the minimum requirement to appear for JEE is 75% for general. But if you are from other category such as SC/ST, you need not to appear for improvement exam as you're already eligible for JEE. So the answer of your question is yes, the NITs will consider your improved score only and you're adviced to appear for improvement exam only if you're from general category.
