According to the EWS rank of 42286 collected from JEE Main, it seems nearly impossible to get entries into any of the top NITs or IIITs for the high branches like Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. For a general category student, it can be quite difficult to get admission in NITs as a candidate with less than 75% in Class 12 by meeting the criteria within competition. For admission through JEE Main, candidates need to fulfill certain academic requirements:1. The cutoff ranges for B.Tech courses at Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, differed based on entrance exams. For the year 2024, the closing ranks for various courses through WBJEE in the General category were around 20,285 and 55,058; Computer Science Engineering was about 20,285 while Data Science was about 34,582. Comparatively, the JEE Main closing ranks were comparable. For lateral entry through JELET, closing ranks ranged from 3,084 for Computer Science Engineering to 7,123 for Electronics & Communication Engineering. These are considered competitive ranks.
