It's good if you have more than 75% in board if you are going to give boards this year. But this year, there is no 75% criteria in JEE.

I don't know about NIT, however, you can try in LPU, as the admissions are going on, LPU is known for its B.Tech courses. It depends on the field you are going to choose. As an MBA student, you will be getting between 6-12LPA. If you want to get into IT, It will be 4- 8LPA on an average.

As per the year 2021 cutoff, The JEE Main ranks from round 01 to 06 are categories wise All India ranks. While all ranks mentioned in two Special Round are JEE Main 2021 All India CRL Ranks. As per the last year cutoff ranks, only 6 rounds has been conducted for categories wise ranks. While two special rounds has also been conducted for All India CRL ranks. So, the rank about you are asking in All India CRL rank not OBC rank.

Choose the board which is nearby you. If you have both, then go with ICSE. If you choose CBSE, join him in coaching class. It will make him more competitive.
