With an 82 percentile in JEE Mains, your chances of securing admission in NITs (National Institutes of Technology) are limited. Percentile indicates your position relative to other candidates, and typically, an 82 percentile corresponds to an All India Rank (AIR) around 2,50,000 to 3,00,000, depending on the total number of test-takers and their distribution of scores. While admission criteria can vary each year, securing a seat in NITs with an 82 percentile may be challenging. The percentile represents your standing in relation to other applicants; on average, an All India Rank (AIR) of approximately 20,000 to 25,000 is associated with a 95.5 percentile, contingent on the total number of test-takers and their score distribution. A percentile of 95.5 usually puts you in a competitive position for admission into various branches at NITs, while the requirements for entrance can change every year. Make an effort to actively participate in counselling via CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Boa

Your chances of securing a seat in an NIT (National Institute of Technology) or IIIT (Indian Institute of Information Technology) for B.Tech with an OBC rank of 31197 depend largely on several factors such as the branch you are interested in, the particular NIT or IIIT you are applying to, and the competition in that specific year.  Typically, for OBC category candidates, the cutoff ranks vary across different NITs and IIITs and also across branches of engineering. It's recommended to check the previous year's cutoff ranks for your category and preferred institutes to get a better idea. Sometimes, if your rank is close to the
