Yes, there are some good chances into NIT with a percentage of 85% in JEE Mains. Basically 85% - 95% is considered good for getting admission in NIT. but then too getting admission depends on various factors which include category, state quota and percentile. These factors also play a major role. and incase if you want to know the NIT you can join then they are NIT Puducherry, NIT Goa, NIT Hamirpur, and NIT Raipur.

According to the EWS rank of 42286 collected from JEE Main, it seems nearly impossible to get entries into any of the top NITs or IIITs for the high branches like Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. For a general category student, it can be quite difficult to get admission in NITs as a candidate with less than 75% in Class 12 by meeting the criteria within competition. For admission through JEE Main, candidates need to fulfill certain academic requirements:1.
