No, NIT Trichy does not offer admission to any of its courses directly. Admission is strictly entrance-based. For BTech, MTech, MSc, and MCA courses, national-level examinations such as JEE Main, GATE, IIT JAM, and NIMCET are accepted. Candidates shortlisted based on the exam scores further need to take part in the respective counselling procedures such as JoSAA for BTech, CCMT for MTech, and CCMN for MSc. No, direct admission for B.Tech programs is not offered by NIT Trichy. Admission to  NIT Trichy's B.Tech programme is by entrance. A valid JEE Main score is required for admission to the B.Tech programme at the institute. To get admitted, a candidate must meet the exam requirements. Candidates who are chosen also must participate in JoSAA counselling. There isn't another admission process.

It is unlikely to secure admission in NIT Trichy for B.Tech with a rank of 47477 in JEE Mains session 2 because while cutoffs vary slightly each year however the previous years' data suggests the closing ranks for the general category in NIT Trichy's BTech programs can be much higher than 47477. A rank in the 40,000s generally falls outside the competitive range for NIT Trichy's BTech programs.

As you said you're weak in coding, so you should work hard and consistently to strengthen your skills on it. Many of the students doesn't  usually know more regarding coding culture but once they find it familiar, they start developing their skills on it.  However, if you are getting opportunities to get a better option for pursuing the course, you should go for it but if you're interested about pursuing your career in ECE you should definitely go with coding as it has a vast exposure to the tech field.
