There is no question as to which one among them is better. In terms of ranking, exposure, faculty, NLS has an edge. Not denying the fact that even NLUD is progressing quite impressively and their infrastructure might be better than NLS (because of it being quite new), it still lags behind on certain parameters to NLS. Apart from having, perhaps the best law library in the country, NLSIU has an unmatched alumni network which would take at least 15 years for NLUD to come even close to it. Considering NLUD was established only in 2008 but has still managed to be one of the best law schools of this country, if given a chance, I would still

Admission to National Law Universities (NLUs) is primarily based on the rank obtained in CLAT and the preference of NLUs given by the candidates during the counseling process. While a rank of 8000 in CLAT 2023 is decent, the competition for admission to NLUs is usually high, and it ultimately depends on the number of available seats, the number of applicants, and the preference of candidates. However, having OBC category rank of 1150 can increase your chances of admission as many NLUs reserve seats for OBC candidates. As the exact number of seats reserved for OBC candidates may vary from one NLU to another, it's difficult to predict yo

Considering the variations in last year cutoff and this year score you can expect 70% accurate prediction. So you cant be reliable on the CLAT predictor. the last SC rank that was granted admission to NLU Assam had an All India Rank of 8967. Now if we evaluate your profile on the basis of this answer, I have to be brutally honest in letting you know that your rank is nowhere near the ideal requirements. Anything below 10000 would have still improved your chances but since your rank stands at 25505, I don't think you will be able to make it. Now you have 2 options to make a quick and wise decision, Wait for a second attempt at NLU Assam

It's difficult to predict whether you can get admission to any National Law University (NLU) based on your CLAT All India Rank (AIR) and OBC category rank. The cutoff ranks for admission to NLUs change every year based on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the availability of seats. However, based on the previous year's cutoff ranks, it is unlikely that you will be able to get admission to the top NLUs such as NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, or NUJS Kolkata with your current rank. However, you may still have a chance to get admission to some of the other NLUs based on your rank. I
