Yes, Faculty of Law Calcutta University is as good as NLU Kolkata. Faculty of law was ranked #28 out of 38 law college in India and is at number 2 and in calcutta. Is a well reputed Institute as NUJS. The median package offered to BA+LLB and PG students during the recent placements drive 2022 were INR 7.84 LPA and INR 9.20 LPA, respectively. The placements of this Institute are also good. Majority of the students got placed. The overall Institute is also good if we see other factors also such as faculties, infrastructure, reviews etc. So for any student trying to make his/ her career in the field of law, this Institute will be tha best

In Faculty of Law, Calcutta University, 95 BA LLB and 4,201 PG (2-year) students were placed during 2022 placements. The median package offered to BA LLB and PG (2-year) students during Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta placements 2022 was 7.84 Lacs per annum and 9.20 Lacs per annum, respectively. The college had 100% placement records for the past few years. The average package ranged between 14-18 Lacs per annum by national law firms and 46-48 Lacs per annum by international law firms. The top recruiting companies are Trilegal, Khaitan & Co., SAM, CAM and other law firms.

NLJS offers admission to LL.M. course based on CLAT scores followed by the CLAT Counselling. NUJS admission to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.) is based on CLAT scores followed by the CLAT Counselling. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT Last Allotment list 2024. As per the NLU Kolkata  CLAT cutoff 2024, the round 5 closing rank for BA LLB (Hons) was 279 for the students belonging to the General AI category. The cutoff ranks for the same course was 260 in 2023 and 251 in 2022. A graphical representation of BA LLB (Hons) cutoff trends for the last three years is given below:

WBNUJS Kolkata accepts CLAT scores for admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M courses. NLU  Kolkata cutoff 2024 for Round 1 is yet to be release. However, as per the Nalsar University of Law cutoff 2023, the Round 1 closing rank for BA LLB (Hons) was 260. So, considering the NUJS previous year cutoff, this year it is expected that the Round 1 cutoff will range between 250 to 270. NLU Kolkata LLM programme has a seat intake of 102 students, including all specialisations. Candidates are offered seat in LLM based on their CLAT score. In 2024, CLAT cutoff for NUJS LLM was 620 indicating that aspirants must have a rank between 500-700 for a seat in NUJS LLM.

 Yes, NLU Kolkata offers reserved category candidates a relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at the time of admission. NLU Kolkata BA LLB (Hons) admissions are done based on CLAT scores. Candidates are shortlisted based on the minimum eligibility criteria set by the CLAT Consortium of NLUs. CLAT is an offline exam conducted at the national-level. It is a two-hour test required for admission to NUJS. The 2024 cutoff was concluded after Round 5 of the admissions list. The closing rank of the BA LLB (Hons) was 262 in Round 1 and 279 in the last round of CLAT for the general AI category candidates.
