Sectional cut offs are important, the college doesn't officially declare them but they surely consider it.
To get the call for the GDPI round you have to clear both the sectional cutoffs and the overall marks. It wont be disclosed to you that you have cleared the cutoffs or not as you will just get a letter with your selection details for the 2nd round.

Mumbai is the best campus of NMIMS as it is the oldest and the most reputed of the lot
PGDM is the course that is offered by IIMs and here at NMIMS it is no different. It is a diploma and it gets updated every year with relevant subjects and at the same has a wider scope than MBA degree.

Life is different here at NMIMS than IIMs. There are a few reasons for this
1. IIMs are a campus college whereas we aren't so that makes life a bit different, we work quiet a lot till 8 or 9 PM but beyond that we have to do all the stuff at home. Whereas at IIMs there are lectures scheduled post 10
pm also.
2. Mumbai factor. This is something that NMIMS leverages a lot. Everyday you will find some or the other guest lecture scheduled as it is convenient for the corporates to visit us. Such exposure builds relationships and makes you ready for the corporate world in a better way.

Yes you can choose any specialization among finance, marketing or operations in the 2nd year.
No we don't have any basket ball court in campus. But there are few good courts nearby where we pay and play by the hour.

The admission in any of the NMIMS campus is based on two rounds 1. NMAT score wherein a cut off mark is declared for each campus. It is usually 208-210 fro mumbai, 190 -195 for bangalore and hyderabad. If you clear the cut off the you are called for the next round. 2. CD-PI round - this happens at Mumbai campus and after this the final shortlist is declared for each campus.

Distance MBA is mainly for working professionals and does not have much value. So, it is suggested to go for a full time program from a reputed college that can offer you excellent placement.
If you wish to go for distance learning, some of the distance learning institutes are:
1. Symbiosis.
2. IGNOU.
3. ICFAI.
4. MIT.
5. Sikkim Manipal.
