Those who want to pursue nursing courses after 12th commerce, arts and Science can easily opt for GNM nursing courses. The course duration is 3.5 years in which the students have to complete a 6 months internship in the last 6 months of the course. Even after finishing class 12 with Arts or Commerce streams, aspirants can pursue a rewarding profession in nursing. Auxiliary Nursing Midwife ANM and General Nursing Midwife GNM Diploma programmes are available to students who have finished their class 12 examinations with Arts and Commerce streams.

Different states have different procedure. Some states conduct their own entrance exams for this course called CET (common entrance test), whereas some give admissions through NEET score.

As a Science student, you may not have taken courses that are directly related to the courses in a B.A. Programme, but you can still calculate your overall grade percentage using the grades and credit hours for the courses you have taken. To calculate your grade percentage for a particular course, you can use the following formula:
Grade percentage = (Grade earned / Total possible grade) x 100%
For example, if you earned a grade of B in a 3-credit course with a total possible grade of 100%, your grade percentage would be:

Based on the eligibility criteria, it seems that if you have completed your 10+2 with Commerce stream, you may not be eligible for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing programme of IGNOU. This is because Commerce stream does not include the mandatory subjects of Physics Chemistry and Biology.

Yes, males can also apply for a B.Sc. Nursing course in India.
