A BAMS doctor cannot directly practice as a gynecologist in modern medicine. However, they can specialize in "Stree Rog and Prasuti Tantra," which is the Ayurvedic branch focusing on women's health, pregnancy, and childbirth. To become a recognised gynecologist in modern allopathic medicine, one must complete an MBBS degree followed by an MD or DNB in Obstetrics and Gynecology. That said, BAMS doctors with a postgraduate specialisation in Ayurvedic gynecology can offer treatments for women's health issues using Ayurvedic principles and are authorized to provide prenatal and postnatal care within their scope of practice.

After completing BHMS course, pursuing a specialisation in Gynecology directly is not possible, as Gynecology is a branch of allopathic medicine. If you are interested in allopathic gynaecology, you would need to pursue an MBBS degree followed by a specialisation (MD) in Gynaecology.

While it is not common to pursue a career in Gynecology directly after completing a BDS course, it is technically possible to shift to the field of Gynecology through further education. To become a Gynecologist, one would typically need to complete an MBBS followed by a specialisation in Gynecology (MD/MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology). Since BDS is focused on dental care and not general medicine, transitioning into Gynecology would require going through the full medical education route. This may involve taking an entrance exam for medical school and completing the necessary years of study.

Obtaining a seat in OBG at an All India Rank (AIR) of 39,700 in NEET PG 2024 in the SC category might be difficult since last years' data suggests that closing ranks for OBG in well-established colleges are much higher.

The most common candidates for this Diploma in gynecology and obstetrics would primarily be those who have a medical degree. Most possible candidates are MBBS graduates (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).Although BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) does indeed have some medical sciences foundations, he will not be eligible for such a Diploma as it is strictly oriented to allopathy-oriented degrees in medicine. Some colleges, however, offer other Diploma courses or bring BAMSers to such-programs on women's health issues or Ayurveda. One must check up with these institutions when it comes to eligibility criter

It would be quite difficult to make way into the Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics with a rank of *60693* in *NEET PG 2024*, as this branch is very competitive. Thus admission is going to depend on several parameters, such as category (General, OBC, SC/ST), reservation policies, cut-offs of the college, and the availability of seats. Do check the particular cut-off ranks of the colleges you wish to apply to. High ranks generally get difficult courses but if you still wish to pursue G&O, you may have to try other options, such as private colleges, or wait for later rounds of counseling.
