The maximum permissible period for completion of the course is seven consecutive academic years for direct students and eight consecutive years for in-service students. An academic year consists of two semesters each having a minimum duration of 110 working days consisting of 95 Net Instructional Days (NID) and 15 examination days.

One seat in each subject/discipline of the Master’s and Doctoral programme is reserved for foreign candidates sponsored by ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India. If the seats remain vacant, those seats shall not be filled up by any other categories. In the case of foreign candidates sponsored by the ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India, the deficient courses as decided by the advisor will have to be taken as remedial or prerequisite courses.

The Kashmiri Migrants/ Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir Valley are not required to appear in the OUAT PG Entrance Examination - 2024. Interested candidates must apply online, without which admission is not allowed. The selection of these candidates will be made from a separate merit list prepared based on the highest OGPA/percentage of marks in Under Graduate programme. Without OGPA/marks of qualifying examinations, the application will be invalid.
