For admission to MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Dental College and Hospital, it is mandatory for the candidate to possess a BDS degree. Degree from recognised institute along with permanent registration in State Dental Council is required. Completing a one-year internship and qualifying the NEET MDS exam are also mandatory conditions.

Kanti Devi Dental College or KD Dental College, is a private college approved by the Dental Council of India. KDDC offers BDS at UG level and MDS in 9 specializations at PG level. Admission to all the courses are based on the candidate's performance in NEET. For Admission in KDDC, candidates must have a valid score in NEET UG/ PG exam. Admission is done through online mode.

In India, there are many private colleges which are providing the MDS course in the specialisation of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. These are Sharda University at Greater Noida, Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences and NIMS Dental College and Hospital of Jaipur and the and they charge INR 23,0800, INR 67500 and INR 135000 respectively per year. Government Dental College Kozhikode NEET MDS Cutoff was released for Round 1. The Cutoff was released as opening and closing ranks for different categories under the AI Quota. The Cutoff rank for different MDS courses ranged between 18 and 90, for the General AI category candidates. The Cutoff rank for MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was 90. Therefore, candidate with a Cutoff rank of 100 cannot get any course at GDC Kozhikode.
