Otago Polytechnic is not ranked by traditional rating systems like the QS World University Rankings and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Instead, it ranks ninth in New Zealand's overall national rating. Based on a global ranking by Webometric, it is placed 3,532. These rankings give greater weight to the university's reputation domestically than to its influence globally. It is important to remember that rankings alone are insufficient to express the value of a learning environment, especially when considering the individual needs and objectives of every student.
