OTET Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for OTET (Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test) is as follows:
For Category A (Paper-I): Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks and must have 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D. El. Ed. ) or Bachelor in Education (B.Ed. ) or Special Education (B.Ed. ). For Category B (Paper-II): Candidates must have passed Graduation with at least 50% marks and must have 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed. ) or Special Education (B.Ed. ) or 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D. El. Ed. ) from any recognised institution. Therefore, if you fulfill the above eligibility criteria, you are eligible to apply for the OTET exam.

Eligibility criteria for OTET:
Students must be a citizen of India, and they must also be permanent residents or domiciles of Odisha. The min age limit to apply is of 21 years, and there is no upper age limit set for OTET Exam. Eligibility Criteria for Category-A (Paper 1)
Students should clear Class 12 with at least 50 % (45 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) aggregate marks. Also, students should possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or DElEd). Students should clear Class 12 with at least 45 % (40 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) aggregate marks. Also, students should possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002. Students should clear Class 12 with at least 50 % (45 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) aggregate marks. Also, Students should possess a 4-year Diploma in BElEd. Students should clear Class XII with at least 50 % (45 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) aggregate marks. Also, Students should possess a 2-year Diploma in Special Education. Students should clear graduation in any stream. Also, students should possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Special Education. Eligibility Criteria for Category-B (Paper 2)
Students should clear graduation with at least 50 % (45 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) marks. Also, students should pass a one-year course in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). Students should clear graduation with at least 45 % (40 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) marks. Also, students should pass a 1-year B.Ed course in accordance with the NCTE Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. Students should clear graduation with at least 50 % (45 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) marks. Also, students should pass a 1-year course in B.Ed. Students should clear Class 12 with at least 50 % (45 % for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, or PwD students) aggregate marks. Also, students should pass a 4-year BA Ed/ B.Sc Ed course. OTET qualification of primary teachers Paper I (Category A: Class 12th with 50% of marks.
The applicants must have D. EI. Ed or B. EI. Ed with at least 50% of marks. As per the new NCTE rules, B.Ed graduates are also eligible for primary teacher posts. Therefore, B.Ed graduates with at least 50% of marks can apply for OTET Paper I exam. For reserved category candidates, there will be 5% relaxation in the marks. OTET qualification for Class 6 to 8 Teachers Paper II (Category B):The applicant must be a B.Sc, B.Com, BA, BE/B.Tech graduate with at least 50% of marks. The applicant must have B.Ed degree with at least 50% of marks. Candidates who have completed integrated BA, B.Ed or B.Sc B.Ed are also eligible to apply.
