The eligibility criteria for B. E. or B. The requirements for lateral entry at PA College of Engineering (PACE) in Mangalore,  Karnataka,  are as follows: Candidates must have earned at least 40 percent of the total marks in optional subjects; candidates must have earned at least 45 percent of the aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics as required subjects in the 12th standard or equivalent exam; candidates must have earned at least 45 percent of the marks in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Electronics, or Computer Science; and candidates must have earned at least 40 percent of the final year of a three-year Diploma in Engineering with at least 45 percent of the final year. PACE is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education  (AICTE).

Admission is primarily based on COMEDK UGET or KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) scores, and candidates are required to participate in counseling, where seats are allocated based on their exam scores and rank. For PG courses, candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Admission to M.E./M.Tech programs is based on GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) scores or PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test) scores. Candidates with valid GATE scores are given preference, and seat allocation is done through counseling.
