Yes, generally, admission into the B.A. Hons. Mathematics programme at Punjab University is merit-based. The marks scored in the qualifying examination, which is Class 12, are considered by the university for merit-based admission. Applicants need to qualify for the Class 12 exam with a valid stream, that is, either Science or Commerce, and the percentage required in the subject as well. Punjab University may also carry out a counseling process or publish a merit list according to the marks of the candidates. It is recommended to visit the official website for updates on specific admission procedures.

Yes after earning your BCA you can enroll in Punjab Universitys M.E./M.Tech program; however, more credentials are needed. A BCA graduate would need to first get an MCA (Master of Computer Applications) or a similar degree because M.E./M.Tech programs are generally for applicants with a B.Tech/B.E degree or an equivalent qualification in engineering or technology. The main way Punjab University admits M.E/M.Tech students is by looking at their GATE results in related fields. You can apply to M.Tech programs like the Computer Science and Engineering if you pursue an MCA and are eligible for the GATE in Computer Science (CS).
