No, it is not compulsory. If you are genuinely looking to improve your prospect for getting a job, a good job at that, you would need to get into a good business school if not a great school.

As per my experience and knowledge if it is possible for you to attend executive then it is advisable to go for it as it has much better aspects than part-time. In executive you will have much more to learn.
