Hello Nityanand,
Of course, yes. In almost all the states, there is a system of admission in engineering colleges for Diploma holders as a special category called lateral admission. Here the Diploma holders are given admission directly into the second year of engineering. But the procedure is different for this in different states. In some States admission is based on the marks scored in the Diploma examination while in some others, a special entrance exam is conducted to determine the merit of the students. You will find all the information on the web page of directorate of technical education of your state.

Hello Ankit,It is very heartening to know from you that after doing your Diploma in petrochemicals you are interested in pursuing the graduation course in the same branch in the state of Uttar Pradesh. You can seek lateral admission directly into the second year of four year degree course on the basis of your Diploma. The state conducts an entrance exam for this purpose. In LIT, Nagpur the total intake in petrochemical technology is about 12 and the preferences are given to JEE score holders. So sorry dear your chances are very less.

Well, Engineering is full time study course. You cannot do it through part time, because engineering is practical and theoretical both. So, it is necessary to be regular for that course on full time. You can do it as part time. And, as you have completed Diploma, you will get admission in 2nd year of B.Tech-full time degree directly. Thanks.
