Well, In the first year all the branches study same syllabus in a same building and if one got good CPI in first year then you can get promoted to good branch which you have filled in the form. Now coming to the petrochemical branch, according to me I am concerned no branch is bad if you have passion about it. Go through any branch, you will definitely do good and as far as I am concerned by doing B.Tech from petroleum, you must prefer in gulf countries.
