Petroleum engineers have come a long way from just drilling a hole underground to produce oil by its natural energy, to very knowledgeable enhanced oil technology, to actually pushing oil from an injector well to a producer. Dear Aagam, Both LPU and PDPU are good private universities. As far as I know, LPU does not offer petroleum engineering and I have no idea about this programme at PDPU. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to sail through vast sea go with Marine engineering. LPU is good for a B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering. If you opt for the course, you will get to learn in one of the best academic environments in the university. The four year course consists of 8 semesters and is a relatively unexplored field of engineering.
