Hello!Yes, you can pursue PhD in Economics after completing BTech in any stream. There are many colleges that allow only studnets who have completed a Masters in Economics or a related field, but some colleges also allow students from other backgrounds to take admission in Doctorate in Economics degree. You must apply for entrance exams like UGC NET and GATE through which you can get admission into the PhD in Economics program.If this answer helped you, please upvote!

Only the students having a Bachelor's degree from any IIT and having a CGPA/CPI score of 8.00 (out of 10.0) and above can apply for admission to Ph.D. programmes without giving GATE/net.

However, it may depend on the specific admission requirements and prerequisites of the Ph.D. programme you are interested in. Hi Pratiksha while clearing UGC NET in commerce you also study Economics. So yes you can do Ph.D. in Economics. M.Com is just a base and for Ph.D. you can opt for any of the subject which you like so just go for it.

Yes you can. For UGC NET one should apply with subject of PG or subject most similar to PG subject. One should do Ph.D. in economics if you have sufficient knowledge of economics concept.
