Ph.D Eligibility

To be eligible for a PhD programme at Lovely Professional University (LPU), candidates must meet certain academic and professional requirements. Generally, applicants should have a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field with at least 55% aggregate marks (or 50% for reserved category candidates).Additionally, those who have completed their M.Phil. programme or have a valid score in national-level entrance exams like UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, or other equivalent research-oriented tests may also be eligible for direct admission or exemption from the entrance exam, depending on the specific requirements for the program.Candidates with professional experience or research background in the relevant field may also be considered for the PhD program, as LPU encourages interdisciplinary research.Furthermore, applicants need to demonstrate an interest in research, as they will be expected to propose a research topic or area of interest in their field. After meeting the academic eligibility criteria, candidates typically have to appear for the LPU PhD entrance exam, followed by an interview or presentation before the selection committee. Successful candidates are then admitted to the programme and can proceed to the coursework phase before starting their research.

The eligibility to pursue Ph.D from Lovely Professional University:A master's degree in the field with a cumulative GPA of 55%.5% relaxation for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and those with special needs.The LPUNEST (Ph.D.) admission exam score will determine whether applicants make the short list for interviews.Subject to obtaining a minimal score, the ultimate decision about admission to the Ph.D. program will be based on the interview performance.Absence of the Entrance ExamLPUNEST (Ph.D.) is not required of applicants who have qualified for the UGC (NET/JRF), CSIR (NET/JRF), SLET, GATE, GPAT, or ICAR Teacher Fellowship, or who have successfully completed the M.Phil program (in regular mode only).This exemption only applies to LPUNEST (Ph.D.), but the candidate must still complete the paperwork and show up for the interview. 

SPA Delhi PhD eligibility criteria state the conditions to be fulfilled by candidates seeking admission. Students who fulfill any one of the following conditions are eligible to apply for PhD courses:Obtained a master's degree in relevant field or its equivalent conducted by any other recognised university/institutions with a minimum of 60% marks, orCompleted a bachelor's degree in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering or its equivalent conducted by any recognised university/institution with a minimum of aggregate 80% or 8.0 GPA and minimum three years' experience (relevant to the proposed topic) in teaching/research/professional practice, orCompleted a bachelor's Degree in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering or its equivalent conducted by any recognised university/Institution with a minimum of aggregate 60% or equivalent grade and minimum ten years of experience (relevant to the proposed topic) in teaching/research/professional practice, orMaster's Degree in allied disciplines, as decided by the respective Departmental Research Committee (DRC) on case-by-case basis, relevant to different streams offered in this School by various departments, with a minimum of 60% and minimum ten years of experience (relevant to the proposed PhD topic) in teaching/research/professional practice
