To be eligible for PhD programme offered at DOMS IIT Roorkee, candidates need to pass BE/ BTech with a minimum of 70% aggregate/ CGPA of 7 on a 10-point scale (65% for SC/ ST candidates/ CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale) or pass ME/ MTech/ MSc/ MA/ MCom/ MMS/ MBA or equivalent degree from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 60% aggregate/ CGPA of 6 on a 10-point scale (55% for SC/ ST candidate/ CGPA of 5.5 on a 10-point scale).

Candidates with a proven academic record based on a cut-off of the GATE, CSIR or UGC scorecard or equivalent are eligible to apply for PhD at IIT Jodhpur. The institute shortlist students based on their score in the entrance examination. Shortlisted students need to appear for the personal interview round. For, Engineering courses, students need to qualify GATE exam and for non-Engineering courses, students need to qualify for the NET exam.
