You can do B.A. Hons from English from any renowned university. You can also study abroad, for this you'll have to give SAT, IELTS or TOEFL. The test is based on English syllabus, interview and GD. Hello,
First of all, you need to select the college or University you want to go in. In Master's course they conduct an entrance while in some cases. The admission are direct, so you have to get prepared for both. It doesn't matter, if you come from good place or backward you have to work hard.

Many universities having humanities stream provide Ph.D. (English). You should have 55% in M.A. (English) - Duration is 4 years (if you possess M.Phil. (English) then duration is 3 Years) and the fees is on par with your PG only. Many universities are providing 4 times admission process in a year.

No. You need to have post-graduation for pursuing Ph.D. in any field. Diploma makes you eligible only for Graduation. So, go for similar thing.
