The Ph.D. in Finance is a research-led study programme leading to graduate-level academic and research careers. PhD Graduates often go on to consultancy work, undertake other research, or teach in university finance departments. The programme typically lasts four to five years, including two to three years for original research and writing a dissertation. To enter a programme, students must have acceptable GMAT scores and a college-level background in math, including calculus and Algebra and economics. Some programs may also require that they already have an MBA.

I your case MBA ( executive ) would be a good option or distance MBA. Executive MBA from top b school or distance MBA from IGNOU/ Symbosis/ Anamali/ KUK could be a good choice. Best wishes.

IIT'S are more concern about research and technical stuff required a math background with less focus on holistic studies. While in IIM Lucknow they would think more about rigorous training with more focus on interpersonal skill, management training and will give variety of knowledge. Which somewhat lacks in dms IIT Delhi.

I would rather suggest you to either do MBA with Banking as your specialization subject or else get into a job in Banks (as Probationary Officer) or in a fiance company to gain valuable work experience. Doing PhD or LLB might not be much beneficial to you if you need to make a career in the filed of fiance or Banking.
