Candidates are eligible to continue on to do research leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated programme if they have successfully completed the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade "B" in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is used). According to the Commission's judgement from time to time, applicants who fall under the SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates may be given a 5% mark relaxation from 55%
