Hello,
A student is eligible for doing Ph.D. after completion of post graduate degree. However these days almost every university insists on students clearing entrance test for registering students for doctoral research. Hence you need to follow rules of the prospective university where you intend to do Ph.D. Best wishes to you.

You can visit the official website of these universities regularly to know the dates. However, most of the admission notification will come in March-April every year so keep your eye there. For Jamia specifically, Ph.D. admission notification comes two times a year summer session in March and Winter session in August-September.

Show that you are keen and interested. Show off your previous lab experience. What should stand out is the enthusiasm for the topic (embryo development in my case), and more specifically for the project itself. Explain your motivation more generally and say why are you interested in this kind of Ph.D project.

Sometimes it's hard to know which advice to focus on and what will make the. This topic and the associated research, and I am going to need a Ph.D. if I want to be. Or do independent research, so I might as well get it done as soon as possible. Don't go according to plan; anticipate possible delays and be ready to adapt.
