Yes, you can definitely pursue M.Sc and Ph.D together. You can opt-in for Integrated Ph.D. It is a research programme, which is mainly devoted to Science and engineering. The students receive an integrated Ph.D. degree after successfully completing their degree and doctorate. In other words, integrated doctoral studies is the 5-year dual master and doctoral degree course. In the first two years, applicants need to study for the first two years in the M.Sc course and focus for the next three years on research and core Ph.D courses. Yes, you can apply for M.Sc after completing the graduation degree in physics, The IIT JAM exam is held for admission into M.Sc. Ph.D. and other integrated courses from IITs, NITs or IISc institutes, The eligible candidates can apply for the exam in October- November months. The IIT JAM exam is organized in six subjects that are physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, geology, and mathematical statistics.
