I am glad that you are sure about which stream you have to make your career. Sometimes, it becomes difficult for students to choose the stream. NTA conducts the UGC NET exam twice in a year generally in the month of June and December. June 2019 will be going to be conducted from 20-28 June excluding the Saturday and Sunday. If you want to apply for the UGC NET you can apply for the December 2019 session. Before applying for the UGC NET exam you must fulfil all the eligibility criteria which are. Eligibility for PhD programme: Full-time: Post-graduate degree holders of any recognized universitywith a IInd class securing at least 55% of marks in the concerned subject or in an allied subject. Their admission is based on the merit inthe entrance test GURCET. Preference will be given to candidates with MPhil degree wherever applicable followed by candidates with UGC/ CSIR/ NET/GPAT qualification. Candidates possessing M. Phil. / M.E. / M. Tech. / M.C.A. / M.L. / MPharm /LL.M. /M.D. / M.D.S. /M.S. degree at the time of admission are exempted from appearing for GURCET / Pre-PhD examination. Thanks!
