You need to apply for UGC NET exam and after clearing it you can apply in various Universities for Ph.D. programme. Details of NET exam you can get from UGC site. But if you wish to apply without exam then you may not get good University for same as after clearing exam you will become eligible for fellowship. Otherwise universities best for doing Ph.D. are Delhi University, Panjab University etc.

These days all the universities conduct an entrance exam for allowing students to pursue research projects culminating into PhD. Christ deemed to be University also conducts this exam twice in a year to select candidates who can seek admission into their doctoral programs. It is indeed very nice to know that you are interested in carrying out research in some subject and as a result seek a degree of doctorate. Normally speaking for doing research in any subject knowledge of the subject is perhaps a must. In Indian context this means the student should have completed his post graduation in a related field. Please bear in mind the typical words "related field". You have done your M.Tech from BITS last year. This indicates that you are eligible to pursue your dream of Ph.D. but only in a related topic.
