Photographers can work in many different areas and often choose an area to specialise in. They may work for a company, but many freelances. They find assignments by advertising or networking.
Portrait photographers take pictures of people and events. They may work out of a studio that people visit. They also travel to events like weddings & meetings. Some portrait photographers specialise in school photos, they travel to schools to take pictures of students on picture day.

Dear, if your intention is to make money from wildlife photography then drop the plan. Currently, anyone who buys a DSLR is a wildlife photographer. Why am I saying this? Yes, I'm seriously practising wildlife photography for past 4 years. So far I've realised that we can keep this just as a passion. It's so hard to survive in India.

According to your interest and passion, you can consider Mass communication because through that you can understand how the media especially channels like Discovery, Geographic or other channels work. Through this course, you may apply for an internship for the related work and get the experience for your career goals.
You can pick Photography as a project work in your course duration.

There are so many Certificate and Diploma courses in photography in India. Besides these, very few colleges provide a Bachelors degree in fine arts and photography.
The minimum education required for the professional courses in photography is 10+2. These courses contain the knowledge and art of photography, angle, lighting, technical knowledge of instruments as camera and understanding of fine arts.
