Although the seats are limited, teaching faculty for Engineering Physics is excellent in the IITs. The placement record for this engineering branch is also good in the IIT Madras. The undergrads from IITs has a package of around 11 Lacs per annum, where the highest being rupees 17 Lacs. Though, the degree of engineering physics has a large pool of opportunities and options apart from the job in big corporates. I think placements are not that great for integrated course. You can also send the email to the concerned authorities to get the placements data.

I don't think it's a good decision. According to my point of view, you should opt for Ph.D so that you can get better opportunities after Ph.D in research field as well you can also get good job opportunities in colleges as a professor.
