Candidates applying to the University's PG courses should have cleared 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized Board and must hold a Bachelors degree from a recognized University/College. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks.

Admission Process
Admissions to all the programmes offered by TIFR (except science education) is based on a written test conducted by the institute. However, the institute also accepts GATE / NET / JEST scores for admissions to Physics.
Students who get shortlisted will be called for interviews which is generally held from Feb to April every year. Candidates will be intimated by email.
