To be considered for application you must take the GRE and TOEFL. Apart from these exams you must have a very strong all-rounded profile, excellent academic grades in your Bachelor's degree, outstanding project work and research work, if you have publications it's very good, a good number of extracurricular activities are also seemed. Hello,
In JEE Mains, the questions from electricity would be a maximum of around 2-3. In case of this chapter, it is essential to know the concepts well as you would get most of the questions concept based.
Problematic questions could be asked, a theory based question and so on.
So, you may refer the previous year questions for getting the idea about how the questions were asked from this chapter.
Then you may read the concepts well and practice more problems related to it so that you can clear this section.
One important note, don't attempt the questions if you are not sure about it.

If you have completed your post graduation in physics then this subject can be well taught by you to the students. So, it would be great if you go for physics as you know all about it.

Yes, you may. In class 11th and 12th, you need to have chemistry too. Later for your Bachelor's degree, you can pursue B.Sc (Hons) in physics or maths.

You have to do your PG in the relevant subject and you have to satisfy the stipulations of the UGC. Your aptitude for research is very much needed. So, make an intensive study of the subject from the beginning.
