The Director General of Civil Aviation, New Delhi conducts the written examination at Chennai, Mumbai, Calcutta and New Delhi every three months commencing January of every year. The student has to clear the following subjects:
1. Air Regulation.
2. Air Navigation
3. Aviation Meteorology
4. Aircraft and Engines (General and Specific)
5. Radio Telephone (Oral and Practical) conducted by Wireless and Planning Co-ordination Wing, New Delhi.
Minimum flying hours required for the issue of the Commercial Pilot License is 200 hours within a period of 5 years.
