Minimum educational background required for CPL is PCM in +2 with 50% aggregate marks. PCB is not acceptable. If still you want to go for CPL then you will have to appear for Mathematics separately to justify the eligibility. Once you are done with this, you can proceed further for CPL training. You must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a Student Pilot License, 17 for a Private Pilot License, and 18 for a Commercial Pilot License.
Alternatively, you could directly enroll for the Private Pilot License once you have cleared Class XII and are 17 years old. This involves taking an exam conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation* consisting of theory papers on air navigation, aviation meteorology, air regulation and technical aspects.

Minimum Compulsory Eligibility for undergoing CPL / PILOT Training is as under:
1. 10+2 from a recognized board with 50% aggregate marks in PCM.
2. CLASS 2 Medical Fitness Certificate from DGCA approved medical establishment.

Non-Science stream students may pursue the required subjects through NIOS. NIOS schooling can be used to meet the above-mentioned requirements. Apart from NIOS, non-science stream students may also pursue the required subjects as private candidates from their respective state boards too.

If you have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and Physics, they you can apply for IGAI. It may be from CBSE or RBSE.

After your class 10th, as there is no diploma course in this field, you need to have Maths and Physics as main subjects in your class 12th, and should have passed out. To become a pilot, the minimum qualification required is: class 12th passed out, with Maths and Physics.
