No, the only requirement is 10+2 with PCM (55%) and good money to invest in training. Government academies charge around 38 to 45 lakhs for CPL and private flying schools charge almost additional 10 lakhs.

Dear,
For both, you need to complete 10+2 with PCM. There is a common feature if you know engineering, you can understand nuances of flying an aeroplane quickly and correctly. If you are interested in engineering then chose AE and if you are interested to handle the controls, pilot training is a good but expensive option.

Eligibility Criteria
- For General Candidates: i) Passed English at 10+2 level with ii) Minimum 55% Aggregate Marks in Maths & Physics
- For SC/ST/OBC Candidates: i) Passed English at 10+2 level with ii) Minimum 50% Aggregate Marks in Maths & Physics
Selection Procedure
- Online Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test in the following manner:
a) Written Test: At allotted centers on 14th May 2017 (Sunday)
Exam Centers: Please check Options for centers. Option for three centers is to be made giving first, second and third choice. IGRUA reserves the right to cancel any Center if numbers of Applicants for the Center are inadequate

You can become a commercial pilot by acquiring proper training from flying club or academy and getting endorsement from DGCA, As far as the course is concerned you should have PCM combination Physics and maths in 10 +2 with 50% is mandatory and you may required to appear in entrance exams too, cost of training may be 35-45 Lakhs.
