No, B.Tech is not going to give any additional advantage or preference for pilot training. The only required educational qualification for becoming a pilot is 12th with PCM. B.Tech will just find a place in your CV and will be reflected as your additional qualification. Apart from this, there's no other benefit that it shall give you.

Commerce students can also join pilot training provided they satisfy the minimum educational qualification required for the same. The essential educational qualification required for becoming a pilot is 12th from any recognised board with PCM as subjects. Now since you've done your class 12 from commerce stream, at present you are not eligible for the course. But you may satisfy the eligibility if you appear for PCM as additional subjects in the next board exam. Once you get PCM on your board marksheet with 50% marks. You shall be able to enroll for pilot training.

Hi,
Training in commercial flying can be taken with flying clubs, the Rashtriya Udan Academy, Private Flying academies or with flying schools abroad.
The training goes through 3 stages of license. While training institutions impart training, they do not provide job placements.
Licenses have to be procured in the following order:
Student Pilot License (SPL) Private Pilot License (PPL)Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
After Class XI/XII (with PCM) students can apply for the SPL
On passing Class XII (PCM) they may enroll for the next license -PPL
On getting the PPL training begins for CPL

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a qualification that allows you to act as a Pilot in Command or PIC of a single pilot aircraft or as co-pilot of a multi-pilot aircraft. The basic requirements to obtain the CPL license are published by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). However, the actual courses in flight training programs vary from country to country, based on the National Aviation Authorities (NAA). The educational qualification is 10+2 or equivalent with 55% marks in Physics and maths individually for General Category candidates and 50% marks individually in Physics and Maths for SC/ST/OBC candidates. All can

The basic eligibility criteria is that the graduate must have completed 10+2 science stream schooling with physics and mathematics as the main subjects. The minimum aggregate marks in the 12th board examination should be 50%. The minimum marks criteria may differ from one institute to another.
The graduate could have completed any 3 or 4 years long professional course from a recognized university. He/she won't be eligible to become a commercial pilot without science stream (mathematics group) schooling.

After completing commercial pilot license training and clearing CPL exams conducted by DGCA, you will be issued a CPL License by DGCA.
The minimum eligibility for doing this training is 12th with PCM 50% marks.
Your engineering degree shall be an additional qualification but will not add in any way for the issue of CPL. Although it shall find a place in your CV.

Stammering is controllable and within limits should not affect the candidate's selection for pursual of CPL Training. Although I would still suggest to meet a panel doctor who is certified by DGCA for conducting class 1 initial and renewal medicals. They will be able to give exact advise. The list of all such doctors is available on DGCA webpage under Medical Tab.

Railway Recruitment Board keeps coming up with vacancy notifications for the position of Railway Co-Pilot. It was available last month itself. You should take a look at the webpage of RRB Recruitment. Railway hires graduates for the position of loco pilots. The training for the same is provided by railways in their own training institutes.
