As such CPL is complete in itself, because it is a professional training programme and it grants you the privilege to fly any commercial aircraft for the purpose of remuneration. Airlines like Indigo, Jet Airways, Air India and Go Air are currently hiring candidates with CPL and no additional training is required. You may also do Type Rating after CPL which will allow you to apply as a CPL + Rated candidate for any particular fleet. It will have both pros and cons. Firstly additional cost of training will be incurred. Second, you will restrict yourself to only those airlines which operate on the fleet of your type rating. The advantage

After getting a CPL comes the most important phase in the life of a pilot- type rating. You get to choose the plane you will fly throughout your career. Be wise and choose the plane that suits you. After getting your CPL, you can:
1. Go all alone for type rating
2. Apply for a job directly.

For getting a job in airline you will have to go through the selection procedure of the airline. It comprises of Technical Exam, GD, PI, Simulator check and Medicals. For becoming a commercial pilot, there is a specific eligibility criteria, which you should first be aware of. This is decided on what subjects have you taken in class 12th. It requires 50% marks in PCM to be a pilot. And, even if you have not opted for the same, then you can appear separately for these subjects and become eligible. Further, you should be aware that you are medically fit to be a pilot, so I would suggest you to visithttp://www.dgca.nic.in/medical/medical-

Hi,
Private flight schools are operated like other businesses, and there are no entrance exams. The only prerequisite is that you have money. There are sponsored flight schools. They are run by governments, military forces or airline companies. The competition is tough, and only the best of the qualified candidates will get through. They will be tested in mathematics, logic thinking, perception, memory, motoric skills and language skills. They may also undergo the medical and psychological test. After 10+2 with at least 55% (general category) or 50% (ST/SC/OBC) aggregate marks in physics and maths, you need admission directly in a flyi

Hi Pranav,
The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board. Interested candidates can apply online with required information. Admission is based on the marks obtained in 10+2:

If you belong to the reserved categories like OBC/SC/ST then you can contact your community commission. They have schemes and provide freeship and scholarships to candidates belonging to their community. You may also do 'C' Certificate of Air Wing, it will help you in getting 40 hours of free-flying from any government flying club. Otherwise, the last resort is a loan from banks which almost everyone does.

Ground training would cost you around 1.5 lacs of rupees. But no doubt, after that, you have to go for your flying training and then again that would cost you around 27 lacs depending upon your the flying academy.
Thanks.
