As long as your vision can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses or contacts, you will be eligible for a 1st Class FAA Medical Certificate, which makes you eligible to fly as a civilian professional pilot. This is much less restrictive than military pilot vision requirements. Regards.

To become a commercial pilot:
1. You need to first possess a student pilot license. You must be over 17 years of age and have completed 12th in Science (Physics and mathematics) with 50%.
2. Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
3. General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
4. You need to register at a flying club which is recognised by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

Basic prerequisites to apply for a pilot training programme are mentioned below. Please check for your eligibility from the criteria mentioned below:
You must complete class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in maths and physics. You must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a Student Pilot License, 17 for a Private Pilot License, and 18 for a Commercial Pilot License. Yes, B.Tech graduates can pursue a career in Aircraft Maintenance. Please check for your eligibility to pursue this course from the criteria mentioned below:
This is a technical course. Students who have passed 10+2 Science stream (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects) with minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible to pursue this course. Without an airline transport pilot certificate, and with only a CPL and a few hundred hours to your name, you're very limited in what you can do for a living. Theoretically, the FAA lists all the careers a CPL-wielding pilot can legally perform. Hi Suraj,
Yes, you can join CPL after doing aeronautics. First, you should join with SPL, then you can join CPL or PPL. After all, your choice is good, and also you will be physically fit for joining the pilot course.
