* You need to first possess a Student Pilot License. You must be over 17 years of age and have completed 12th in Science (Physics and Mathematics) with 50%.
* Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
* You need to register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

There are many private flying colleges across countries which claim to be top flying schools, but are only commercial ventures. It is recommended that you take admission at only recognized flying schools. Here is a list of very good flying schools in the world

Getting Job in aviation Sector specially in India is very very difficult. You have to be a expert experienced pilot for getting a job with different ratings. The cost of training and rating are very costly and also you have to clear DGCA exams for CPL.

In India the total course will cost you around 35 lacs which in include
200 hr flying
Ground classes
and other expenses
DGCA exam fee should be bear by student only

The licences have to be procured in the following order :
- Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
- Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
- Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- After Class XI/XII (with PCM) students can apply for the SPL
- On passing Class XII(PCM) they may enroll for the next licence -PPL
- On getting the PPL training begins for CPL.
Details of the Licences:
Student pilot licence can be taken at flying clubs in every State . It is a theory exam.
Eligibility - Age of 16 years minimum and pass in Class X. A medical certificate of fitness, security clearance and a bank guarantee is required.
