A Police Verification Certificate (PVC), also known as a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), is typically not required for internships abroad. Especially when you are going for a short period of time. However, if your internship duration is more than 90 days then you need to check the visa rules of the host country. Else, you can ask your employer for assistance.

Once you apply to become a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen, you and your family members should include a police certificate. However, when you apply as a visitor, temporary worker, or student, then the Government of Canada may require a certificate. You may apply for a Police Clearance Certificate at your local police station, passport office, embassy or consulate, or BLS International Centre.
