Admission into the B.A. in Political Science at MCC may be challenging with low marks in 12th since the college usually follows a competitive admission process. Generally, MCC looks for those who have performed well in their 12th examinations, especially in subjects like political science. But each year, the admission criteria may vary according to the number of applicants and seats available. As this can be low marks side, it will definitely effect chances, yet you will try and go through in some ways, like the colleges can offer a relaxation cutoff to specific categories.

Candidates seeking to pursue a Bachelor's degree in International Relations may have completed their 12th grade in any stream, though a humanities and social sciences or political Science background would be most suitable. Most universities admit based on the minimum percentage at the 12th level, which is 50-60% in general; some may also include scores from entrance exams as qualifying criteria.

Hindustan College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore does not offer a BA in Political Science. It provides a BA in English Literature instead. However, Hindustan University in Chennai offers a BA with a triple major in Political Science, Economics, and Law.  Other institutions in Tamil Nadu, like Madras Christian College, also offer BA programs in Political Science.
