It is a wonderful college. You will get to compete with the cream layer of Pondicherry in this college. It is at least 10 times better than NIT Pondicherry in terms of teachers and infrastructure. The campus is extremely beautiful. It is opposite to sea shore and adjacent to Pondicherry university which is even more beautiful. I had seen many types of flora and fauna in the institute. When it rains, it will be like a heaven. The teachers are far better than that of the private colleges. Personally, I had briefly studied in College of Engineering Guindy (Anna University). I think teachers in Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC) are better than that of Anna university. When you say you are from PEC in Pondicherry, the respect you get is immense. People respect you and admire. I am not a person who is interested in culturals and party life. So, I don not know about that. But I use to participate heavily in literary events. Many literary events are conducted and are of top quality. I won't say, they will be on par with that of IITs, but they are really good.   

The dates of JEE Main results are generally in February for Session 1 and May for Session 2. Pondicherry Engineering College does accept scores from JEE Main for admission. Cut-off ranks in PEC as follows: General (15,000-25,000), OBC (20,000-30,000), SC (40,000-50,000), ST (50,000-60,000). Counselling would typically start with registration in June, seat allocation in July, and admission confirmation in August. Closing ranks in PEC: Computer Science: 18,000-22,000; Electrical: 25,000-30,000; and Mechanical: 20,000-25,000. The results of JEE Main Session 1 will be declared by 6th February and Session 2 by 18 May. The ranks will vary year to year and also category-wise.
