The awards that PCC offers include: PCC Foundation Scholarships-This scholarship amount offered to Indian students ranges from $500 to $2,500. For this, the students must be enrolled in PCC and apply during the scholarship application cycle, usually in the Winter term for the subsequent Fall term.Students can also find scholarships through external organizations: The Gates Millennium Scholars Program; and many state and local diversity scholarships. Portland Community College (PCC) has a 100 per cent acceptance rate with open admission, indicating that anyone who meets the basic qualifications-the minimum requirements including a high school Diploma will be admitted. PCC does not accept SAT or ACT standardized test scores into any of its institutions. It, therefore, receives applications from different types of applicants and international students as well. This approach is inclusive as it supports education for diverse populations with minimal hurdles that would hinder them from proceeding with their academic goals.

For example, a student from India would qualify for admission into Portland Community College. The college is open admissions, so it does not reject any high school graduate or holder of GED. There is no standardized test like SAT and ACT required for entry. Moreover, to facilitate non-native English speakers, PCC has a full ESL program. Applications for admission are accepted throughout the year. Student reviews mention that college is a great opportunity for quick school and it gives students so many opportunities for going to state colleges. Getting part-time jobs at Portland Community College is manageable. The college offers OPT and CPT programs. These are practical training programs that allow students to gain work experience during and after the completion of their course. Students have to follow the regulations. They are allowed to work  20 hours a week while school is in session and can work full time during school breaks. The average wage students get while working on campus is $15.95/hr. To work off campus students need to get work authorization. The average hourly pay for a Part Time Student in Portland is $19.18 an hour.

Portland Community College is a reasonable option for international students. It is one of the top 40 community colleges in the US. The college is regionally accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. PCC provides quality education at an affordable cost. It is not difficult to get into Portland Community College. It has an acceptance rate of 100%. The college has an open admission policy where all qualified students having the minimum requirements get in. Students are required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate.  It does not require SAT or ACT scores which is also a relief for students. English proficiency test scores are also not compulsory for admission as the college offers English as a Second Language (ESL) program that helps non-native English speakers improve their English language skills. Applications are accepted year-round.

Portland Community College does not have dormitories on campus. Students have the responsibility to locate their own housing. However, the college offers resources to find housing off campus. It takes about 1-2 weeks to find an apartment. Students have options for short-term housing, homestay and student apartments. College Housing Northwest is a non-profit housing corporation in Portland that offers housing to students attending college in Portland.

Portland Community College is a good choice for Indian students. The college is regionally accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
