According to PGI Chandigarh official website, approximately 22.5% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) in courses and 27% of total seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates.Note: This information has been sourced directly from the PGIMER Chandigarh’s official website. According to the notice named ‘PGIMER, CHANDIGARH National Institute of Nursing Education selection of candidates in order of merit for BSc nursing 2023’, closing rank for unreserved category was 97.7319 and 84.1304 for reserved seats. The closing rank for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates was 46.6449.

PGIMER Chandigarh BSc counselling rounds generally begin around the month of July. The college holds personal counselling, which means that eligible candidates have to physically report at the institute. Four rounds of counselling are held, in which the fourth round is the’ Open’ or ‘Spot’ round.Note: Candidates absent during the counselling process will not be considered for the admission.

Admissions to PGI Chandigarh courses are made on applicants’ merit in Class 12 and score in the entrance examination. Once the eligible applicants have given the entrance exam, the selection process begins. The college prepares a rank list of the students based on their entrance examinations scores. PGI Chandigarh then allocate seats via personal counselling. In personal counselling, the candidates who meet the cut off are called to the institute.

In order to appear for the PGIMER entrance exam, students are required to first apply for the desired course. PGIMER generally opens its application forms for BSc courses in the month of May.
