Alright. I understand. I'd suggest Instrumentation and Control engineering. It has better placements and scope for higher studies as it's a developing field which is getting more and more prominent in the practical world. However, you really need to work hard if you take ICE. All the best :)

I think faculty is pretty good, however just like every other college in city placement in production is as good as nothing
Most of the students will go for MS or MBA or end up doing job in TCS\Infy\Accenture or some other similar company.
Not sure if scenraio has changed in last few years. (seems unlikely)

A PG diploma course from a recognized university or affiliated college can be done by only a graduate and since you are a diploma holder and not a degree holder,you are not eligible for any PG Diploma. It is advisable to do either a BE through lateral entry or any other graduation program
